Background
Betty Carey is a Maternity Management Consultant.
As an independent consultant she provides program design assistance to
Health Care Organizations, prenatal care providers and health sites. She
is dedicated to helping organizations improve pregnancy and birth outcomes
and decrease costs through health education and case management. She also
represents innovative programs, products and services in womens
health for which she conducts training to improve implementation and to
facilitate desired behavior change and compliance.
Expertise
She has expertise in low and high risk obstetrics,
health education, case management, health services marketing, health promotion
planning, and evaluation. She is familiar with the issues in perinatal
care, health services delivery, medical benefits, managed care, private
practice, and professional liability. She is competent in all phases
of Web-based clinical content design and her expertise in womens
health topics facilitates fast-paced Web-based content development.
She has completed extensive professional
development and training in subjects relating to quality healthcare, case
management, managed care, and quality improvement. As an independent consultant
she advocates for the profession of case management and tracks legislative
trends that will impact case managers in Washington State.
Service
Carey is Past-President and Treasurer, 1999-2000,
of the Washington Medical Case Management Association, an affiliate chapter
of the Case Management Society of America. She is a member of both organizations
